Sophie’s hunt for the truth continues! Maverick is pleased to announce the second volume of our newest young adult mystery series, SCOOP, is now available at your favorite bookstore and local comic shop!
With the aid of some Alligatoids and a Mangrove Man, Soph hunts through the past… while someone else hunts her in the present. This whodunit culminates with crop circles, a dance-off, a cat-and-mouse chase through the colorful, yet treacherous, streets of the Wynwood district, where Sophie finds the “real killer” — and discovers a startling new truth about herself… one which threatens to doom her once and for all.
“One of the themes in our second book is a calling to dig deeper — to keep picking at a story until you hit the truth, even if the truth scares you. And in Buried Leads, Sophie does just that. By digging into this new murder mystery, as well as the ongoing case against her dad, she also uncovers a major piece of the secret sci-fi puzzle that’s ensnared South Florida for decades. But in true SCOOP fashion, this discovery comes at a steep personal cost,” said Richard Ashley Hamilton. “Along the way, Soph meets some new characters who are every bit as complicated and diverse as the rest of our cast and who will play crucial roles in future volumes”
