With over 20 years in animation, working on hits like Trolls, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, and The Addams Family, Comtois brings a wealth of expertise to Sunder. Inspired by European comics and long-form storytelling, this passion project combines rich world-building and vivid character expression with exceptional creativity.

“The story of Sunder began with the development of its main character, Zeek,” said Pierre-Alexandre Comtois. “As I explored his identity and origins, the narrative gradually took shape, and once I determined the endgame, everything else fell into place. Influenced by my love for monsters, fantasy, and favorite works like Bone, Blacksad, Star Wars, Hellraiser, and Dark Souls, the story, its settings, and its characters were brought to life. Pierre-Alexandre Comtois has been working in animation as a story artist for over twenty years on projects such as Trolls, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, The Addams Family and Sausage Party. He self-published his first comic book, Shard, in 2000, from there working sporadically in comics, including on the Bluewater Productions series, Power of the Valkyrie, as the penciler.
