Mad Cave Studios has always been about pushing the envelope and bringing MADNESS to independent comics. We’re shocked at all the support that we’ve gotten with our first two releases of the year, Battlecats & Midnight Task Force, so we want to do something special with the release of Knights of the Golden Sun. Enter Multiverse Corps. Comics who shares our vision of bringing fun and exciting comics to readers every Wednesday. Through our partnership with them we decided to release our very first Variant Cover with Eisner nominated artist Vanesa R. Del Rey!
Multiverse Corps. Comics has become a staple in the Miami comics community since opening just last year. Tim, the owner, is about giving new and exciting content to his customers and that’s what we plan to do with this cover. Act fast as this exclusive store variant cover will be extremely rare with only 750 Copies made available to the public and 100 extra will be signed by both artist and writer. Mad Cave and Vanesa R. Del rey
Local South Florida resident, and Cuban born artist, Vanesa R. Del Rey began her career doing concept art for animation. Her work in comics is described as dark, gritty and mysterious with great dominance of figurative work. She has illustrated Scarlet Witch, Spider-Women Alpha, and Daredevil Annual (2016) for Marvel Comics. REDLANDS, co-created with Jordie Bellaire, is her first creator-owned series with Image Comics. She currently lives and works Miami, FL which makes her a neighbor of us at Mad Cave.
With this exclusie cover, Vanesa has put her spin on the epic struggle at the center of Knights of the Golden Sun, the fight between the Archangel Michael and the Fallen Angel Lucifer. Rendered in her dark, loose aesthetic and wrapped in an amazing red, purple, and gold color scheme, this cover is begging to be framed.
Knights of the Golden Sun #1 will be available on November 4, 2018.
