The variety of artistic styles collected constantly keeps the reader interested. The more traditional linework of stories such as Pay the Piper and Mother’s Thorn are executed well and pace the story nicely. Unique styles such as the political cartoon aesthetic of Hello, my Name is… and the web browser-inspired New Nightmares Sold Cheap give a superb collage of the possibilities of comics art. - Comic Book Yeti

Fantastic, creepy, and mind blowing. Grimm Tales From The Cave is an excellent masterpiece by all the authors and Mad Cave Studios. The graphics are wonderful and the stories are equally marvelous. I liked the fact how the authors have narrated the story in the context of today's world. - Bibliophileverse

Although every story is based on a Grimm’s fairy tale, each one has its own unique voice. Whether it be the military setting of Soldiers of Fortune, the sci-fi-inspired Billie and her friend Death, or the fantasy elements of Weft, the writers do an excellent job of distinguishing each story. - Comic Book Yeti

Ever changing variety increases the scope and scale of the story, but when you add vampires and werewolves to the mix, this issue feels tailor-made for lovers of both science fiction and horror. The premise is completely original, the writing of the characters is completely unique with a multitude of distinct voices, and there’s plenty of tense action and drama to carry the plot forward. - Comical Opinions

Everything is backwards, or is it.. in this hit twisted medieval noir – Nottingham Vol. 1: Death And Taxes.

In this twisted medieval noir, the Sheriff of Nottingham hunts a serial killer with a penchant for tax collectors. The Sheriff’s investigation makes him the target of England’s most nefarious power-brokers. That’s to say nothing of the Merry Men, terrorists lurking amongst the trees of Sherwood, led by an enigma known only as “Hood.” Collects issues #1 – 5

"Mad Cave Studios' new series Nottingham has taken the "heroic" out from Robin Hood's legendary status as "heroic outlaw" by reimagining the highly skilled archer and swordsman as a twisted serial killer. He might still rob from the rich to give to the poor as English folklore first ubiquitously portrayed him, but that's where the similarities end." - Steven Blackburn

"This March, David Hazan begins a new chapter in the Robin Hood mythos with Nottingham #1. One filled with murder plots, zealous intrigue, and an element of mystery. Although the pacing of this first issue was a little slow, it picks up toward the end and it finishes with an exciting conclusion. The ending left me wanting to know more about this version of Robin Hood’s world." - Joe Bones

"I have enjoyed the many interpretations of the story of Robin Hood. From Errol Flynn, to Kevin Costner, or Cary Elwes, they were always good stories but usually the violence was toned down.[...] But not in Nottingham. The kids gloves we’re definitely removed in this version of the classic tale. Neither the Merry Men nor the Sheriff approached their business with anything less than serious intent. It is a fresh approach and works extremely well." - Martin Sexton

"Verdict: Buy! Nottingham manages to bring a new take on an old tale, focusing on the history and not the myth, and in doing so, elevating the narrative. A must read for the adult who grew up loving the hero." - Kris K.

"It’s a strong storyline with a voracious appetite for controlled anarchy and mayhem. David Hazan’s scripting feels well thought out and purposeful while the art is the stuff nightmares are made of. "As for Nottingham issue #1 from Mad Cave Studios, its blend of humour, blood, dialogue, and pacing make it a great first entry. I am 100% unaware of this publisher so getting a first issue to read and review is exciting." - Emmett Davis
