Nightmare In Savannah Writer Participates On Queer Peers: Representation In Comics Panel

Join Nightmare In Savannah writer, Lela Gwenn, as she speaks on Diamond Book’s LGBTQ+ panel on June 4, 2021.

Booklist and Diamond Books will have Vincent (Vincey) Zalkind as the moderater, a queer Messenger Clerk from the Los Angeles Public Library. The webinar will focus on the importance of LGBTQ+ representation in both characters and as creators of graphic novels. This webinar will be taking place at the front end of Pride Month and will include promotion from both Diamond Book Distributors and Booklist prior to, during, and after the event.

Lela Gwenn will be joined by Steve Orlando (COMMANDERS IN CRISIS, KILL A MAN), Sina Grace (GETTING IT TOGETHER), Jen Hickman (LONELY RECEIVER) and Hazel Newlevant (EMBODIED: AN INTERSECTIONAL FEMINIST COMICS POETRY ANTHOLOGY).

Lela Gwenn is a writer that has written Hellraiser Bestiary 4 (BOOM!), Where We Live (Image), All We Ever Wanted (Wave Blue World), Bad Luck Chuck (Dark Horse), as well as upcoming graphic novel Nightmare in Savannah (Mad Cave Studios). She’s a proud social justice warrior, and the town weirdo in her rural community. She’s currently in school despite being way too old, but she loves it.
