TIM DANIEL

Sit down with Montana-based writer and designer Tim Daniel as we discuss what the Lower Your Sights project means to him, his contribution to the anthology, and his thoughts on the unifying power of art.

Q: What does this project mean to you?
Tim: Both a means of peaceful protest and to contribute in some way to the welfare of those affected. My creative talents are all that I have to raise my voice in solidarity with the people of Ukraine.

Q: What is your contribution to Lower Your Sights? (Short Story, Pinup, Etc.)
Tim: David Andry & I contributed the short story Keepsafe along with artist Kateryna Kosheleva and I also supplied the design of the anthology’s main logo.

Q: In addition to supplying food and essential supplies, Voices of Children also provides art therapy to help kids cope and overcome the stress, anxiety, and trauma of living in war conditions. Do you believe art has the power to heal?
Tim: There can be no question. Art and in particular storytelling, when used for the greater good can function as an empathy-generating machine. We can share a sense of kinship and catharsis though we are worlds away from one another.
