Bryan SilverBaX

Sit down with Atlanta-based creator Bryan SilverBaX as we discuss what the Lower Your Sights project means to him, his contribution to the anthology, and his thoughts on the unifying power of art.

Q: What does this project mean to you?
Bryan: I really enjoy helping others. When I was approached with this project all I asked was “how can I help?” If this can bring anyone a piece of mind about problems they are dealing with I am more than happy to help.

Q: What is your contribution to Lower Your Sights? (Short Story, Pinup, Etc.)
Bryan: I completed a pin up illustration of soldier who is behind cover while taking fire and still has the time to reflect on his family while gazing at his wedding band.

Q: In addition to supplying food and essential supplies, Voices of Children also provides art therapy to help kids cope and overcome the stress, anxiety, and trauma of living in war conditions. Do you believe art has the power to heal?
Bryan: I would say that it does. Art can take many forms and all of those forms offer coping affects. Art has the ability to transport folks mentally to other places and/or time and that can spark memories that can sooth. Art is one of the most powerful forces in the universe.
