Thank you, San Diego!

We’re back from our first-ever San Diego Comic-Con, and we had a blast! We’d like to thank everyone who came to visit our booth, every amazing creator who spent time with us over the weekend, as well as the event staff for putting on the show and keeping everyone safe. The energy was high, the peeks were sneaked, and we’re excited to be entering this next era of madness here at Mad Cave.

“Exhibiting at SDCC 2022 was truly a dream come true for us at Mad Cave,” said Publisher Chris Fernandez, “After a long period of anticipation, the show, the city, and the fans did not disappoint. Leaving the show this year was bittersweet, but, in the end, I’m more excited than ever to show off what Mad Cave has in store for fans starting this October!”

From sold-out exclusives to signings and live drawings, we had a weekend full of action! Check out our recap below!

Celebrated author Erik Burnham stopped by for a special signing of his fantasy-adventure series, Potions Inc.!

We had the chance to spend some quality time with Joseph Schmalke, as he signed his SDCC-exclusive variant of our upcoming horror title, A Legacy of Violence by Cullen Bunn!

Industry legend Dan Panosian joined us for a signing, featuring his SDCC-exclusive variant cover of our MCS Legacy title, Battlecats #1!

“After two long years, I was so excited to walk through the doors of San Diego Comic-Con,” said Mad Cave Studios’ CEO Mark London, “It was an amazing experience, like no other, and I can’t wait to attend next year.”

We’re incredibly grateful to every fan who stopped by the booth during SDCC weekend. A couple of lucky Mad Cave fans received Nottingham #6 Sketch Variant covers, illustrated by Nottingham artist Shane Connery Volk, from our SDCC-exclusive mystery boxes!

To celebrate our first year at San Diego Comic Con, we brought back our popular Mad Cave Mystery Boxes–this time with a few upgrades including (2) Trades, (1) Set of Single Issues, (1) Event Variant, and (2) Surprise Variants! We’ve upping the ante with all-new exclusives, and a new set of odds:

  • One in 10 Mad Cave Mystery Boxes will include a Nottingham #6 sketch cover, illustrated by Shane Connery Volk or Andrea Mutti.
  • One Mad Cave Mystery Boxes will include a CGC graded issue.
  • One in 10 Mad Cave Mystery Boxes will include blank sketch covers of Nottingham issue #1.

“This was my first SDCC with Mad Cave Studios, as I’ve just started with the company in mid-July.” mentioned new Retail Relations Manager, Chris LaTorre (pictured on the left). “It was also my first time meeting the Mad Cave team in person, and I was immediately floored by their passion, commitment, knowledge of comic history, and understanding of the comic book industry.”

Thank you to everyone who came for SDCC 2022!

The madness continues from August 18th through the 21st, when we make our next stop in Seattle for Emerald City Comic Con. Keep your eyes peeled, and make sure to follow our socials for updates on where we’re headed to next!

See you next year, San Diego!
