“FREE COMIC BOOK DAY” WILL CONTINUE IN JULY 2024
On Free Comic Book Day (Saturday, May 4th), our FLASH GORDON #0 issue reintroduces your customers to a timeless symbol of thrilling space adventure, courtesy of writer Jeremy Adams (Green Lantern) and artist Will Conrad (Black Panther). Please click here for a preview.

The #0 FCBD issue not only springboards into an ongoing series, but also includes backmatter content that forecasts Mad Cave’s far-reaching FLASH GORDON and DEFENDERS OF THE EARTH publishing plans, outlined below.
FLASH GORDON #1 will hit stores on July 24th (with FOC deadlines set for June 24th from Lunar/Diamond).
Issues #1-5 comprise the first complete storyline, with a consistent cover program across all issues that entails:
- Cover A from regular series artist Will Conrad
- Cover B connecting covers from Frazer Irving
- 10-Copy Retailer Incentive

While FLASH GORDON #1 is featured in Diamond and Lunar’s May catalogs, the subsequent FLASH GORDON #2 will next appear in the July catalogs. This solicitation schedule will grant our comic shop partners the ability to evaluate issue #1’s actual sales momentum in their stores in early July, weeks before the FOC deadline for issue #2. The series will then ship monthly for the remainder of the year.
