The topic of AI-generated artwork has very quickly become a hot topic amongst the creative community. Many artists and writers have been defending organically-generated artwork, citing the ethics and the legality of AI-generated artwork while expressing concerns about art theft, originality, and the future of creative careers.
As a creator-driven and creator-friendly company, we felt it imperative to make a statement in support of our creators and their rights.
“On the subject of AI-generated artwork,” shares Mike Marts, Mad Cave Studios’ Editor-in-Chief, “Mad Cave Studios has made a long-term commitment to our creative community in commissioning original artwork from the artists themselves and the artists only. Mad Cave is creator-driven, creator-friendly and creator-first. We refuse to support the use of any artwork that is used illegally or generated without the consent of the original creators.”
“Mad Cave believes in and supports creators. Simple as that.” Mad Cave Studios’ VP of Business Development, Mark Irwin, states, “The use of AI-generated art without the consent of the artist has no place in our work. We are a creator-driven company.”
Needless to say, for all of us here at Mad Cave Studios; Creators first always.
