The Characters
Iele
Iele are supernatural beings found in Romanian folklore. They appear as young women with very powerful magic, dressed in almost translucent materials or naked. They seem to appear only at night, usually in the light of the moon, in places such as meadows, forests, and riverbanks, where they dance the hora together and leave scorch marks in their wake.
Padurea Hoia Baciu
Hoia-Baciu forest is located in the county of Cluj, next to the city of Cluj-Napoca (lovingly nicknamed the heart of Transylvania). It, as with many other places in Romania, was believed to be haunted by supernatural beings through the years. However, it gained popularity as a hotspot in 1968 when a military man, Emil Barnea, photographed what he claimed to be UFOs.
A big chunk of the forest is also considered a natural preservation and is under protection.
VLAD
An overall good, smart, and very liked young man from Romania. He went missing at the start of the summer vacation after embarking on a trip to Hoia-Baciu Forest on his own.
Adam
A young and adventurous lad from the United Kingdom. Very loyal to his friends, as shown by his immediate decision to go look for his missing friend.
Angelica
The daughter of a supreme witch. She is a calm and level-headed person, though often surrounded by an aura of mystery. She seems friendly but is reserved.
Carol
Used to be your typical farmer until a traumatic experience that seemed to have left him with an unstable state of mind.
