This year marks Mad Cave’s 6th anniversary of our anticipated annual talent search. With submissions open to creators all across the world, we are always blown away by the breadth of talent submitting. By running this talent search, our goal is to give aspiring creators the opportunity that many people can only dream of; having their work published!

This year Mad Cave is searching for one writer, one illustrator, one colorist, and one letterer to work on an upcoming project. This search is specifically for underrepresented talent with a unique voice that has never worked with or been distributed by a major publisher.

Each submission must be based in the world of any Mad Cave Studios’ title: Battlecats, Dahlia in the Dark, Nottingham, Hunt. Kill. Repeat, etc. Each creator may send one submission, but keep in mind that the project you could potentially be working on may or may not be set in the same universe as your submission.

*Note: if you are an artist submitting a Battlecats entry, please know that any series that you potentially work on may or may not feature anthropomorphic creatures.

The contest begins on May 1st, 2023, and runs through July 28th, 2023. Each entry will be considered by members of our editorial team at Mad Cave Studios. The four winners (one writer, one artist, one colorist, and one letterer) will be announced in August! If you’re not selected this year, don’t worry–we’ll be running another talent search next year. So put your nose to the grindstone and hone your craft!
